Maturity Assessment 

FMA will evaluate a client's readiness to deliver on its climate commitments by undertaking a bespoke assessment of the prospective client’s situation, evaluating the extent to which they have what’s required to achieve their objectives. The assessment could could include a focus on the effectiveness of: 

• Existing institutions in relation to climate action (leadership, mandate & capability)

• Policy frameworks in key sectors 

• Legal and regulatory frameworks 

• Accountability mechanisms 

The assessment will: 

• Provide the client with independent benchmark data and analysis on the effectiveness of their existing approach to delivering on their climate commitments. 

• Clearly identify the areas most in need of reform or strengthening, acting as a solid foundation from which to prioritise institutional and governance reforms and take advantage of opportunities for a cross-government approach to climate action. 

• Signal that a client is serious about bringing climate action to the forefront of their agenda.
