Investment Strategy

FMA will work with a client’s institutions to develop an investment strategy to enhance national performance in attracting and retaining foreign direct investment and developing lasting capability.

The practical recommendations a strategy could encompass include:

  • Changes in legislation and regulations to improve the investment environment and overall competitiveness

  • The adoption of new tax or other incentives

  • A re-organisation and repurposing of existing government agencies or structures

  • Recruitment and training programmes for senior officials

  • New mechanisms to engage directly with investors in the policy-making process

  • The crafting of overall and sector specific investment narratives to share with investors together with focused lead identification and generation

  • Targeted marketing and communications strategies

  • Project management techniques and systems and tools for use at each stage of the investor journey, from lead identification to ongoing aftercare to ensure investor retention
