Senior Advisor

Nicholas is a Senior Advisor at FMA. Originally serving in the British Army, he subsequently enjoyed a long and distinguished career in Parliament spanning 36 years between 1983 to 2019. He held a number of senior Government roles including serving as a Minister for Defence and as a Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food.

As a leading expert on security and political relations in the Middle East, Nicholas advises on FMA’s work with our Government clients in the region and elsewhere. He currently serves as the President of the Conservative Middle East Council and a member of the International Advisory Board of GardaWorld.

Nicholas was appointed to the House of Lords in 2022 and he is a member of the International Relations and Defence Committee.
