Nick Thompson

Senior Advisor

Nick is FMA’s Senior Advisor on Africa. Nick’s experience comes from over a decade as a founding member of the Tony Blair Africa Governance Initiative, where he led the not-for-profit’s innovative and embedded advisory support to 15 African governments and leaders.

Under Nick’s leadership, the Initiative played a critical role in the West African Ebola crisis and reformed power infrastructure in Rwanda and Sierra Leone, amongst other achievements.

Prior to joining AGI as a start up, Nick’s first career was in the UK Government, where he worked in the Cabinet Office, Department for Business, the energy regulator Ofgem and the UK Permanent Representation to the EU.
